Building a Brighter Future
For the past eighteen years, the Pregnancy & Resource Centre (P&RC), has filled a serious social service gap in our communities. The Centres original and continuing mission has been to meet the needs of women facing the anxiety and fear of an unplanned pregnancy. Over the years, the Centre has impacted the lives of several thousand women through our one-on-one and peer-to-peer support programs. Moreover, the Centre has expanded its services to include support and counsel through the post-natal period.
Each year, families continue to receive the support, education and training equipping them with needed life skills and parenting tools, thereby empowering them to lead healthier lives and to enjoy brighter futures. Every day the P&RC lives out its mission of providing assistance to those in our community who are faced with difficult and often overwhelming situations. Whether through one-on-one counselling, or through our recovery or peer support groups, we strive to provide our clients with accurate up-to-date information that aids them in making healthy lifelong changes.
The staff of the P&RC walk a journey with the clients for as long as they are needed. Lifelong friendships are made and many former clients of the Centre occasionally stop in to touch base with the staff sharing updates years later. Others in turn have come back to the Centre as valued volunteers. In June 2010, we were thrilled to expand our life-affirming services by opening the doors of a satellite office located in downtown Paris. Our Paris centre offers the same services to the residents of Paris and the surrounding communities, as our main centre provides in the city of Brantford. The Pregnancy & Resource Centre is a non-political charitable organization.
